Amery Island is an island just north of Eastshield, but legally part of the Sub-Antarctic Islands. It's NOT a country. It is well known for being the main solar and wind power provider in the USA.

This island was discovered way back, even before the High Penguin Confederacy! It was discovered when a cartographer was on a boat, trying to complete the map of the USA. He discovered the island, but did not publish it in the map due the fact it was completely useless. It was a barren wasteland, full of nothing. The penguins who got up here, purposely or accidentally, managed to either get trapped forever, or escaped. No one even dared to tell, for more penguins could get trapped on the island. It got well known when a penguin was exploring around the USA and taking pictures with his camera, then uploading them to the internet. The South Pole Council at the same time was trying to find places to build an experimental solar power plant (now called the Wilkes solar power plant, named after the photographer of the island) without disturbing nature or penguins. They decided to look at places on the 'Net. They found Amery Island after a day of searching. It has been since the main hotspot of energy.
Recently, there is a small, growing town located in the heart of the island. The town is called Larsen City, despite the fact it is still considered a town by Antarctica's standards.

Language[]
Amery Island uses it's own type of English called Amery Island English. It is similar to Free Republic English in grammar and spelling, but uses USA English vocabulary.

- It is in the Amery ice shelf, it's namesake.
- To get to Amery Island, one may take a plane to Amery Island Airport or take the Maud Port Ferry.
